A Message From Nicole…

“I make my very meager living as a writer/director of small indie films. We work 24/7 for nothing (we aren’t studios who even have financing…our last film was all crowd sourced because there is no money to make women’s films — and women’s films of QUALITY to provide our community content. If it’s stolen from us we can no longer afford to keep LGBT cinema alive. Piracy is theft. Pure and simple. You don’t just grab a beaded art bag out of a designer’s store because “you want it, now” — you pay for it. It works the same with all digital content unless the provider tells you it’s free. This is not only a financial issue but a moral imperative. If you don’t pay, what gives you the right to play? How would you feel if we just took what you worked a year of your life over and then shared it with a million people on the internet. Don’t let the lure of “having it now” make you a common thief. Support the indie filmmaker by doing what’s right.”

    Bonjour
Votre film “Elene undone” m’a complètement retournée ! Vous avez réussi à nous faire ressentir la puissance des émotions entre ces 2 femmes ! Je suis boulversée et terriblement émue par la grandeur de tels sentiments ! Merci Mesdames ! Merci …

    Howdy,
I would first like to say, that I love your work. It is truly awesome!
I first watched Clair of the Moon a couple months ago. I admit to umm well renting it online at amazon about four different times :-) . The music was amazing, the story line was great.
Then I thought I would look at amazon for you to see what else you have done, and I found Elena Undone. I rented it as well, more than once. Loved it.
Wondered how in the world you got “my” life story. Without the happy ending.
I have since bought the movie, the book, the soundtrack, rented the extras.
Still amazed at how much like myself, not just one but both characters are in different parts.
My coming out as it were, was not a pleasant thing. I lost my husband of 18 yrs, my children 18 and 23 at the time, my father never spoke to me again before he passed, and was told by my brother that no one wanted me at his funeral. sad, but life goes on.
So I am thankful to you and yours for bringing a little joy to my life. I can’t wait for your new film to come out. I will be purchasing that one as well.
If you would like to e-mail me…. feel free. I’d love to chat with you.
Again, thanks so much for what you do for everyone.
    Pam

Hey, Just wanted to say how much I loved your film Elena Undone and can’t wait for your next film. I can’t say I’ve watched it as many times as some of the other people who have commented have, but I have watched through 3 times, I expect I will watch many more times when I need reassurance that romance and passion are alive and well. It also adds to the experience knowing that this is yours’ and Marina’s story

Not all of us have a love story, I am one of the lucky ones, I have been with my partner for twenty-two years. We have had our ups and downs, who doesn’t, but somehow we have managed to stay together and still love one another. My partner isn’t much of a romantic, but that’s okay I more than make up for it. I love romantic movies. I melt when I see 2 women kiss with pure passion….yumm. My partner picks on me sometimes about it….but she is who she is and so am I. We work i think because of that. Anyway, keep up the good work and kudos to you and Marina for somehow managing a large family and making movies for women at the same time. Thank you. Lydia.

Thank you for your comment, Lydia. I agree – we are the “lucky ones”. And while balancing a large family and filmmaking is quite a feat, I wouldn’t trade it for anything. May you and your partner have another twenty-two years and more! xo Nicole

That’s 2 ceelvr by half and 2×2 clever 4 me. Thanks!

  5. I just wanna say that “Elena Undone” is the best film I have been watched until now. Amazing. I have watched three times until now. Just to know I’m from Brazil and I’m straight and married for 20 years. I’m 47 now.
I changed my mind about gays after I had watched The L Word.
But your film is far the best than TLW. Those two actresses must have to do other films together with your direction of course! They are amazing together! I really could feel their feelings! You and everybody that works with you deserves an OSCAR! And about your life story……………WONDERFUL! You must be a special person! Don’t stop….NEVER! Thank you so much for that wonderful GIFT called “Elena Undone”!

Wow, I am beyond flattered and humbled by your lovely comments! As long as I have fans like you how can I ever stop! Thank you, Eliane. xo Nicole

I first watched Elena Undone over a week ago and have watched it several times since. I can’t seem get enough of it. I bought the DVD, the book, and watched the extras. I’ve never written a fan letter before but I felt compelled to write you to let you know that this was a great movie. You captured the feelings of falling in love, the passion, the hunger, the longing and even the heartbreak. It was truly amazing! The casting was great. Everyone nailed their parts. I loved Traci and Necar, they did an amazing job and so did Mary Wells, she was great as the best friend. I can’t say enough about this movie and I can’t wait to see your next project. Please continue to make inspiring, loving films.

Debbie, very honored that your first fan letter is to me! Thank you for writing, thank you for your support, and please keep your eye out for my next film, “A Perfect Ending”. It’s still in post-production but I’m very excited to reveal it to the world! Best to you and yours. xo Nicole

Thanks Debbie… I was just responding to Tracy about people watching the film over and over again… and how gratifying for me that is. It makes all the thousands upon thousands of hours of editing worth it!!! I believe Traci Dinwiddie and Necar Zadegan were beyond amazing in their approach to the characters and their chemistry is off the charts — they make this beautiful love story really sing. Also Mary Wells is one of Marina’s and my FAVE people in the world….humor galore and she was the best choice for the “voice of the lesbian conscience”!!! — Big Hugs…xoNicole
